actually they just previewed her book/diet on Fit TV

and the host/dietician admit that it is not practical for americans working long hours and that some of the fresh food may not be available year round [img]/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/grin.gif[/img]

Mi nuh buy dis one here, at least mi naw buy daht not in America. The US imports based on hemishpere(sp) areas, so they can import all kinds of things year round.

Now, I will admit that importing things "off season" will dramatically impact the price of the items, but Europeans experience the same as we do in that aspect. To lessen the impact of that, Europeans eat what is in season. So if that is potatoes they eat fresh potatoe, if it is apples then they eat fresh apples, etc.

I saw that show on Fit TV (sometime last year) and I didnt agree with the hosts then.

i agree with you, ILP - I think it's an excuse to say fresh fruit are not available year round, although it's true to some extent that the daily fresh market is not available to American women.

i'm still reading the book, slowly. i was going to try the leek soup, but didnt get around to it - i might this weekend as I want to observe Lent and my objective this year is to develop a better relationship with food. it's very timely for me to read this book.
