Alright!
I didn't plan to write another email until Monday but I had to. I
just had to--today.
Remember when I was telling you about driving through the desert and
how I felt this overwhelming since of gratitude? Well, last night I
went to see Daddy's Little Girls here in Atlanta, I sat in the back of
the theater with a hat pulled down over my eyes. I could barely see
(LOL) but, as I was watching the people crowd in to see this movie I
had that same sense of thanksgiving. My eyes watered up. I said, "Oh
God, sweet Jesus, thank you!" I tell you I was about to lose it I was
so grateful. One reason was to know that all of you would trust me
enough to spend your Valentine's Day with me--And that you would come
to see this movie, even though I'm not in it, made me feel great, just
thank you.
Then, as I was leaving, I walked thorough the lobby and I saw that the
rest of the shows were sold out for the night. So I rushed home and
logged on to the message board. I had to know what you thought of it.
Well, you loved it! I mean LOVED! This made me even more grateful.
And the stories, WOW!! To think that some of you would get off work
and then fight the snow and cold. Some of you even had to drive for
hours. All I can say is thank you again. I say this time and time
again--you do not have to support me but I am so glad that you do.
Well this is the first weekend and you know how important it is to the
movie industry. So if you haven't seen it, please try. I know that you
are going to love it as much as the people who saw it last night did.
And to all of the people that saw it last night you know you are my
best advertisement. Please tell somebody about it, or take them to see
it (SMILE).
Here are a couple of things that I want you to remember as you go to
the movies. Please remember to check your ticket stubs to make sure
they say DADDY'S LITTLE GIRLS, because if they don't, then we don't
get credit for it. Latasha from Hollywood Florida wrote in Message
number 404,479 (http://www.tylerperry.com/messageboard) that she and
her husband were given the wrong movie stubs--you should read this.
(I'm looking into this) Please insist that you all get the right
ticket stubs. That's the only way your voice can count.
I'm going back to watch the movie again this weekend too. I love
seeing this movie with a real audience. Thank you "Board" members for
giving me such quick feedback.
I'll talk to you on Monday.
Gratefully yours,
Tyler P.
