Mi nuh kno if the fact the nowadays reagge artists sing inna patois means that they arent educated. For example chan Da Pol ( The best of dem ) always sing inna patwa, but he speaks proper english still and none a di rest kyan reach him fame.

we use jamic because it is our culture...
most jamaicans are able to speak very good english for appropriate circumstances...after all our official language is english... </div></div>

foolish to a fool`s ears. excessive patois banter only reflects the limitations of ones intellect brought about by insularity into ones so called culture.
I`d excuse the artistes on this one but when it comes to comprehensive scientific expression, patois has no place.
yes patois is a people`s dialect and not a language of any advanced sense of what one would define as a reliable means of communication.

Those who sing day in and day out in patwater show up their limitations. Neither Bob nor many of us speak in proper BBC English, but many of bob`s songs were expressed so that many but not all listeners could understand what he was singing.
Contararily, if you listen or read the lyrics to many of our nowadays Dee Jays and singers the patois is limited to the ears of who know patois from a child. Folks who love it are more fascinated with the mysticism and the beat of reggae rather than what is actually being said. </div></div>

because i choose to & it doesn't reflect my educational background which is quite extensive i might add...
