The Greatest Grief

this was already posted once. only it was under the wrong forum. i'd like some feedback if no one minds. be it positive or negative.




The greatest grief is the grief we cause ourselves.
I've come to realize that nothing in life is to be
feared. It's only to be understood. And because we
fear we are always getting ready to live life and
never living it. Fear grows in darkness; if you think
there's a bogeyman around, turn on the light. Then you
will see there's nothing to fear, thinking of security
instead of opportunity. Our doubts are traitors and
make us lose the good we often might win, by fearing
to attempt. The deepest craving of human nature is the
need to be appreciated. Although constantly I wonder
how you feel... Feelings are not supposed to be
logical. Dangerous is the man who has rationalized his
emotions. You cannot make yourself feel something you
do not feel, but you can make yourself do right in
spite of your feelings. You may be deceived if you
trust too much, but you will live in torment if you
don't trust enough. Fiction is the truth inside the
lie. If you do not tell the truth about yourself you
cannot tell it about other people. I've been an open
book long enough, I've written my last chapter. It's
time for someone else to pour their heart out, for it
to bleed. For their veins to run red w/ vexation yet
their arteries are blue w/ discontent. Heart filled
with dejection, wounded w/ wanting to give
affection...

Does not meld with this part

Actually, the latter part is somewhat convoluted... although this line on its own - "their veins to run red w/ vexation yet their arteries are blue w/ discontent" is brilliant...

But don't heed me too much, I really have no idea about poetry/lyricism or their subtexts...

Think of it this way its human nature to be wanted, to love and be loved. Yet we cause ourselves grief by letting our doubts hold us back. Therefore the opportunities to attain the very things we may want and/or need may pass us by. How can one ever live a fulfilling life if the never willing to risk anything? Don't regret what you do, regret what you don't do.
