I started reading Commanding Heights by Yergin this week end....and the Dragonbone throne...

Commanding Heights is better than the reviews claim.. it is a study of the private vs public sector as the economic driver since the fall of kamumism.....ainterestingly its titel comes from a speech in 1922 when Lenin justified the use of the private sector to improve the post revolutionary economy....it looks at teh role of the state and the switch in the last decades to private sector... My copy was autographed by the auhtour! so that is cool!

thje Dragonbone throne is a dissapointment.. expected something in the order of Game of thrones.. which it is not

I have discovered the VISH PURI MYSTERY series...am reading THE CASE OF THE DEADLY BUTTER CHICKEN...Tarquin Hall is the author...not deep but enchanting to read...set in Indian with an Indian detective the books r worth the read....

The story happen through most of the long Swedish winter.
The author definitely put out the darker side of Sweden... pedophilia, dirty politics against immigrants and importation of prostitutes from Eastern Europe.

I read a lot of the #1 Detective Agency series (borrowed the kindle books from my library)

I'm on the waiting list for King Peggy which is a book that Evanovitch mentioned here a while back, and a book called "The Art of Racing in the Rain"

(me nuh undastand why me caan get the books yet and is just one person in front a me as soon as i finish a kindle book i return it, because I'm considerate like that)

in the meantime I just reading the free kindle books that catch my eye and the kindle books that I can borrow from my library.

Also read the Silver Linings Playbook recently...the books are usually so much better than the movie (not that i saw the movie )....some others:
