Never read Into the Wild, but I've read Everest Into Thin Air...very good book about the '93 Mt. Everest disaster. Krakauer apparently p'd off a few people including families of some of those who died up there.

Never read the book. I have read into thin air and loved it. I do like both of JK's books.

edited to add: Oh I remember this story now. I saw a special on it on TV the other day....and his camper/truck is now somewhat of a tourist spot.
