Love Toots' music especially this song...I have been listening to it all week. Got to love the background singers and the organ.... I posted that I thought this might be one of the best reggae songs of all times. I didn't know it was blue beat. Live Eric Donaldson....still vex I didn't get to see him live in Montreal. I have heard that song. What is the difference between Blue Beat and the music that came later. Is there a definition?

So was blue beat a label rather than a style of music...I ask as this is ska.

Sounds more like African American music.....except for the ska beat and the horns.
