By Sadeke Brooks, STAR Writer
There are many rhythms taking the dancehall by storm this Christmas but the 'Gearbox Rhythm' by Truck Back has emerged as one of the hottest rhythms for the Christmas season.
Gearbox was released earlier this year and has been playing in the dancehall since, especially with Erup's Click Mi Finger.
Other songs featured on the rhythm are Harry Toddler's Don't Run In, Buffer Zone by Beenie Man, Spice's Up Inna Di Light and Deva Bratt's Gussie Clark.
Most persons know Erup's song on the rhythm, but Matthew from Coppershot says the song is not the only reasons for the rhythms popularity.
"The song is nice but the rhythm is bad," added Matthew.
"Mi naah go tell no lie, the gearbox rhythm is the hottest rhythm inna did dancehall right now. My rhythm (North Coast Rhythm) hot but it a di hottest mix up rhythm," says MC Nuffy.
Steve, who is part of Truck Back crew, says he is happy about the reception the rhythm is receiving in the dancehall.
"It (Gearbox) has a whole party vibes. The dancehall for the past couple of months was dark; everything was in a minor key which is a sad key. Gearbox have a bright sound and the presence of the sneer drum give the swing-yuh-hip kinda vibes so when yuh hear it, it lift yuh spirit," he continued.
