Serani is at the top and reaching higher
By: Janice Dayle
Serani's recent overwhelming greeting by some of the world's roughest concert critics has undoubtedly sealed his musical fate. During a cameo appearance at STING – where he faced one of the hardest audiences to please; the multi-talented, many hat wearing Serani received a tumultuous response.
Best known worldwide for his smash breakout hit, "Doh" – featuring Bugle, Serani, who has brought many great reggae acts to life, is on a roll that will surely go on way beyond 2008.
For starters - this genius, commonly referred to as "The Future," will ring in his musical new year with the video release for his latest hot track, "Study People," recorded on the Fire Links' "Drumlane" rhythm that he created and produced.
There is no denying, Serani is chock full of amazing talent and his many successful compositions give proof of this. With his high tech mobile unit, Serani has composed such beats as "Anger Management," "Gullyside" and "The Dutty Wine" soundbed and is now also focusing on boosting his own performing skills.
Julia Braham, who was at the helm for both Serani's "Doh" and "She Loves Me" music videos sat in the director's chair again for this one. Serani said he really feels great chemistry working with Braham whose creativity on the set of "Study People" will be seen on screens in early January.
Serani said recently, "To make It to the top of this game you need to put in a huge amount of hard work.. People often see the fame and fortune and think it comes easy, but it takes a round-the-clock effort to get there. Right now I'm just putting in the foundation work, no vacations, no distractions, nothing, just straight music which is my life." With this no-nonsense attitude, the sky is the limit for the artiste and his works. Look out for the release of a mix-tape that will further introduce Serani to the world. His self-produced single, "Stinkin' Rich" and "I'm Not a Badman" are also shaking up the music scene. Get them!
