It’s kind of strange the circumstances
Under which we met,
No matter how long I may live
Believe me, I won't forget.
It was a miracle, somehow, in itself
The first time we saw each other,
And I knew from then, that very day
That I wanted to be your lover.
I know, however, that will not be
You belong to someone else,
And although you feel the same way too
I can't have you for myself.

And that other is my friend,

But I can be satisfied knowing that

This relationship just can't start.
The question is this: Most men as a rule (in my time) will not try to start an affair with their friends ex, not even with his permission (maybe it's different now); I'm wondering: how do women deal with this? Is there a rule about dating your friends man once she ends her relationship with him?
