So I keep being greeted by Msn and Yahoo with the fact that this book has been on the best sellers(NY, amazon etc)list for quite sometime so I thought, if I really am serious about writing my little screenplay, I may as well read a trite bestseller. Grabbed one yesterday.
I have to admit that when she first came out with the "Shoppoholic" series that I got into all 3 or was it 4 or 5?
Anyway, I was in B&N a few weeks ago and saw this, got it on audio for the drive ahead of me, and after the first chapter had buyers remorse.
She made it with Shoppoholics and I think that is one of the main reason she stays on the bestsellers list; people still expect her to be good
Funny, but reading through the first chapter I thought she was an american(and a not very educated one) writing from a brit's POV. When I actually heard her speak I was floored. Her use of language is so... so... un-english-like, if you get what I mean. Was she even trained?
I smile now even though I parked the book mid-way through. I remember the plump sales-girl behind the other casheir counter say(after I paid her co-worker) "It's really funny! You will love it!". Selling after the sale
