The Curse of Ham

The Curse of Ham is the biblical story where Noah’s son, Ham, finds his father drunk and naked. He tells his brothers, Shem and Japheth, who proceed to cover their father without looking at him. The concept is misnamed because when Noah finds out what happened, he doesn’t actually curse Ham. Instead he curses Ham’s son, Canaan, saying he shall be ”a servant of servants.”

The Bible does not explicitly identify Ham as Black. However, some religious scholars interpret the references to Ham’s sons, Cush (Ethiopia), Mizraim (Egypt), Phut (Somalia) and Canaan (Phoenicia) to mean he was the father of Black people.

In later centuries, the narrative was interpreted by many Jews, Christians and Muslims as a curse of, and an explanation for, “black” skin and a religious justification for enslaving Black people during both the Arab and Trans-Atlantic slave trades.

Benjamin Braude, professor of history at Boston College, writes in his 2003 publication Collective Degradation: Slavery and the Construction of Race:

“In 18th and 19th century Euro-America, Genesis 9:18-27 became the curse of Ham, a foundation myth for collective degradation, conventionally trotted out as God’s reason for condemning generations of dark-skinned peoples from Africa to slavery.

NOWHERE in the bible is Ham Cursed by God. It is a Racist lie to try and justify Racism and slavery based on skin color....What God Has Blessed No Man Can Curse.

Of course it must be understood that there is little in the way of veracity to this story, as I will tell it.

There is more to the story as I learned it.....Noah was off the chain so to speak

The cursed happened in the context of a power grab by Ham and that wife (of Noah) to usurp Noah rule over the clan.

There maybe some truth because the term or figure of speech "nakedness of his father" may mean to have sex with his father's wife.
In those days the offspring of such a union would be thought of as a curse.....

That's the angle I heard as a young Ras....so far I have not been able to prove it, thought there is some supporting ideas out there.

the bible never actually mentions anything about skin color during that story...it was convenient for the racialists because the offspring of ham in the bible are clearly black nations---like ethiopia & egypt, somalia, etc.

THE CURSE OF HAM
Black people cursed in the bible


If you no longer want to be a mental slave, you need to know that the black race is cursed in the bible. Since it is the most read, sold, translated and known book in the world, the least we can say is that it’s a problem. christianity is the religion with the most followers,
but just like islam, its roots lies in Judaism (the old testament).

Here is the part from the bible where the curse occurs:
(Genesis ch.9 v.20-27)

“And Noah began to be a husbandman, and he planted a vineyard.
And he drank of the wine, and was drunken; and he was uncovered within his tent.
And Ham, the father of Canaan, saw the nakedness of his father and told his two brethren outside.
And Shem and Japheth took a garment and laid it upon both their shoulders, and went backward and covered the nakedness of their father; and their faces were turned away, and they saw not their father's nakedness.
And Noah awoke from his wine, and knew what his younger son had done unto him.
And he said, "Cursed be Canaan! A servant of servants shall he be unto his brethren."
And he said, "Blessed be the LORD God of Shem; and Canaan shall be his servant.
God shall enlarge Japheth, and he shall dwell in the tents of Shem; and Canaan shall be his servant.”


Ham (Kam > Kamit) is the biblical ancestor of black people, it is irrefutable judging by the genealogy that is given by the bible; (Genesis ch.10 v.6)
“And the sons of Ham: Cush and Mizraim, and Punt and Canaan.”

• Cush (Kush) is an hebraic word meaning « black » and it indicates Nubia, today’s Sudan, a country mainly populated by black people.

• Mizraim (Mizraim) is also a hebrew ("semitic") word to name Egypt (Kemet),
Thanks to the work of Cheikh Anta Diop, we know for certain that ancient Egypt was inhabited by black people.

• Punt, according to "The Oxford History of Ancient Egypt", designates an country in Africa:

[...] Punt, an African country somewhere between the upper reaches of the Nile and the Somali coast. [...] East African land of Punt [...] African region of Punt (probably located somewhere in the vicinity of modern Eritrea)

• Canaan designates Palestine (now called Israel).

It is easier to stop at the simple explanation that Ham was cursed for having seen his father’s willy, but in reality that story teaches us that Noah, while being drunk, has been sexually abused by his son and that the later (therefore his lineage) became black afterwards.
This is confirmed in Judaic and Talmudic literature, I quote Jean-Philippe Omotunde :

In the Midrash Rabba (3) and the Bere**** Rabba (4), Rabbinic literature becomes more explicit. Three rabbis R. Joseph (dead in 333), R. Huna (dead in 297) and R. Chiza bar Abba (136-217) comment an assault on Noah committed by Ham already inside the arch. Because of this act, his descent became black. But Robert Graves and Raphael Patai give us a preview (5) :

“ Now, I can no longer engender the fourth son whom I would have gave the order (…)
your children shall serve, you and your brothers ! It has to be Canaan, your first born, that they shall take as a slave.
And since you have made me incapable of doing bad things in the darkness of the night, the children of Canaan will be born ugly and black ! Also, because you have stretched yourself to see my nudity, the hair of your grandchildren will curl so that it turns nappy and their eyes will be red, also, because your lips have joked about my misfortune, yours will swell and since you had a lack of respect for my nudity, they will go around naked and their virile part extend ignobly.”

Old editions of the Talmuld still state that:
“Cush, lineage of Ham, shall become black because of the curse (…)
The crow and the Cu****e will be black because of their wrongdoings”.

In the book of Jeremiah, we can also read (Jeremiah ch.13 v.23):
“Can a Ku****e change his skin (…) Live and dwell on your land like the Ku****es,
like the elements of nature, you shall not cease belonging to me”.

[ Modern versions goes as follow:
“Can the Ethiopian change his skin or the leopard its spots?
Neither can you do good who are accustomed to doing evil.” ]

The rabbi Maimonides, in his work considered by Jews to be the greatest in matter of religious jewish philosophy
(Guide for the Perplexed, book III, chapter 51), tells us the following about the black nation:

"their nature is similar to mute animals, and in my opinion, they do not reach the level of human beings ; amongst existing things, they are inferior to the man but superior to the monkey because they possess in bigger measure than the monkey the image and resemblance of the man".

CONCLUSION :

• Not only is the black race cursed but we are given a fictitious account of history;
because of science and archeology we know that black people were the first ones on earth, so this biblical story puts the white man in the first place while introducing the black man under some despicable circumstances.
• That story give an alibi (or justification) for the invasion of Canaan.
• It is the first step to curse black people and to falsify their history, the second is no other than the myth of Hebrews enslaved in Egypt.
The Hebrews (hyksos as they were know as back then) invaded Egypt during 140 years (from 1720 to 1580 B.C) and tried to eradicated the Egyptians as reported by Flavius Josephus (quoting Manetho) in his book Against Apion (Book I ch.25)


It would be way to long if I had to show how much the Curse of Ham was used during the Arab trade known as the “Sub-Saharan” trade, and the European trade known as the “transatlantic” trade or “triangular trade”

The Role of Prominent Rabbis and Slavery Explored

One of the world’s best-known rabbis was Moses Maimonides, a twelfth-century Rabbi who is considered one of the greatest thinkers in medieval European thought. He evidently was not thinking when he said that Black people were “biologically inferior” and that Black Africans were “lower than the ranks of man but higher than the ranks of apes.”

It is very interesting that Rabbi Maimonides would make these observations when Black Africans, known as the Muslim Moors, exercised economic, political, intellectual and cultural hegemony over most of Western Europe. Rabbi Maimonides was considered “the symbol of the pure and orthodox faith,” and his writings are considered “the greatest work of Jewish religious philosophy.”

However, when we move beyond Orthodox Judaism and encounter Reform Judaism we are faced with the same disturbing concerns regarding the role of the Jewish rabbis. Reform Judaism maintains that the religion and Jewish traditions should be modernized and be compatible with participation in the surrounding culture. Many aspects of Reform Judaism hold that Jewish law should be interpreted as a set of general guidelines rather than as a list of restrictions whose literal observance is required of all Jews.

Reform Judaism was founded in America by Isaac Mayer Wise. Wise was a rabid, recalcitrant, racist rabbi who referred to Jesus as a “near lunatic,” and, like his predecessor Maimonides, considered Black people as subhuman. Rabbi Wise openly boasted that White Jews gave Christians a God and a religion. According to the landmark publication The Secret Relationship Between Blacks and Jews, Vol. 2, Rabbi Wise’s students were some of the “most notable Jewish clerics in American history.” Among them were Max Heller, Morris Newfield, Isidore Lewinski, Max Raisin, David Marx and Moses Jacobson, all of whom served in the south.

A troubling alliance developed between racist rabbis and members of the Confederacy. This alliance led to a symbiotic relationship between and among members of the southern slavocracy and the Jewish religious leadership. One example is that of Rabbi James Gutheim, the New Orleans Rabbi and ideological student of Rabbi Wise, who in 1862 encouraged Southern Jews to support the Confederacy, and prayed to God to bless the Confederate slaveholders. When desegregation of the New Orleans school system was proposed, Rabbi Gutheim came up with an alternative: he founded a Hebrew school in protest.

Among the Jews and southern slave owners, it was an open secret that rabbis owned and rented slaves. Rabbi Morris Raphall of New York, the nation’s highest paidclergyman, defended slavery and like others of his coreligionists claimed that God Himself had sanctioned slavery. Rabbi and historian Dr. Bertram W. Korn, an acknowledged expert on nineteenth-century American Jewry, was not shy in stating that “Jews participated in every aspect and process of the exploitation of the defenseless blacks.”

Wise, Maimonides, Raphall and other Jewish rabbis used the Talmud to justify their concept of racial superiority over Black people. In the southern Jewish ethos Blacks were scapegoated and demonized so that Jews could develop without the impediment of racism. The rabbis played a crucial and strategic role of supplying “spiritual air cover” for racist Jewish and Gentile slave owners to justify their dehumanization of Black people in the institution of American slavery.

The Holy Qur’an calls out the rabbis and the doctors of law like the Simon Wiesenthal Center’s Associate Dean Rabbi Abraham Cooper and the Center’s Dr. Harold Brackman when it asks why don’t the rabbis reprove the unrighteous and aberrant behavior of the recalcitrant, racist Jews. “Why do not the rabbis and doctors of law prohibit them from their sinful utterances and their devouring unlawful gain? Certainly evil are the works they do.” –Holy Qur’an 5:63

The reason is that the rabbis have benefited financially from the enormous profits gained from our enslavement. Indeed, it was the rabbis who invented the Curse of Ham Myth, which enabled and facilitated the enslavement of the Black man. Therefore, this conspiratorial relationship between the rabbis and their slave-dealing co-religionists benefited the entire Jewish nation in America and throughout the world. A part of this conspiratorial relationship included the deafening silence of those Jews who knew what was happening to the Black man was wrong but chose to be as silent as synagogue mice.

For example, what accounts for the entire absence of Jews from the abolition movement? They did, however, participate in the Civil Rights Movement whenever their self-interests coincided with our Black interests. But we were used as the battering ram, while they benefited from our knocking down legal barriers.

More important, however, was their control of the Civil Rights Movement through their control of the civil rights organizations. There is hardly a Jew who would not agree that the Jews used their financial wealth, legal expertise and public- relations skills to start, organize and manipulate the direction and issues that organizations like the NAACP, the Congress of Racial Equality, and the Student Nonviolent Coordinating Committee adopted.

Further, leaders like the great W.E.B. DuBois were used as figureheads, promoted by them to give the appearance of independent Black leadership. Jews used their wealth, power, and influence as board members, board directors and presidents of our organizations to steer these organizations in the direction they desired to see them go, not in the direction Black people wanted to see their organizations go.

Ask yourself these questions: how many Black board members, board directors or presidents of B’nai B’brith have you ever heard of and do you know? Have Black people ever been in charge of Jewish organizations?

...With the documented historical past of hundreds of years of discrimination against Black Americans and African people documented in The Secret Relationship Between Blacks and Jews Vol. 1 and 2 and in Jews Selling Blacks, is there any wonder there is such great reluctance to openly discuss these issues?

Curse of Ham

The claim that Noah, the biblical father of all subsequent humanity, cursed his son Ham with both blackness and the condition of slavery for looking at him drunk and naked and exposing him to his other sons, Shem and Japheth. In fact Ham was not cursed and his association with black slavery does not appear in the Nebrew Bible.
Noah cursed Canaan--the ancestor of the Semitic Canaanites, who occupied Israel before the Hebrews--to be the "servant of servants." Why Noah was upset with Canaan we are never told according to some sources it was for a homosexual act “looking on his nakedness”. Ham's African sons were Cush (Ethiopia), Put (Libya), and Misraim (Egypt)--and they were not cursed.
