Whether you are a believer or not, you will be tempted/tested at some point if not every day in your life. 2 Peter 2:9 states, “The Lord knows how to rescue the godly from temptation. Without citing a particular instance, have you ever been in a situation where you knew you were being tempted; a way out presented itself yet you didn’t take it? Why didn’t you?

Because I responded quickly without thinking; checked myself for a second, then shrugged and said 'oh what the heck', and just continued to verbally express my displeasure.

too often we give into temptation for temporal, selfish satisfaction. starting as a crack in the door, rather than shuting the door with prayer, we willfully open the door and entertain enticement.
ultimately, isn't it our lack of faith, or a temporary stumble in faith that causes us to ignore what God promises to deliver from us?
