not sure why the tag's not working, but this is well worth the watch. there aren't many people who have such practical conversant command of both the nature and the corpus of myth which humanity has generated.

lol, I felt the same way everytime I went to a lecture with this one monk....about 20 minutes in I would start up a real symphony lmao.
but I'm so in love with campbells material I am always rapt when I've watched these. probably doesn't hurt that I usually have some cookies and a press pot of JBM on hand heh heh heh.

Very interesting and informative, I have only watch part one.
It is good that he admits that the Egyptians knew already, that all the Gods were universal energies in and around man.
Already I find His ignoring of Egypts place as one of the early if not the ealiest high culture civilization suspect(granted he did give it little credence in the second go round) and his idea about the Ayrans almost totally offbase.
All in all a great piece looking forward to watching the rest when I find time.
Thanks Monk

well, I can say you would love his book, the Mythic Image, because in that book he fleshes out a lot of what he hints at and it is chock full of art. keep in mind, he's not so much interested in history per se, but more in mythic concepts that point to communal understandings.
