I usually use <span style="font-style: italic">God willing</span> and then folks will say to me,

While both may be correct, which do you use?

I use neither Mrs. A and I don't distinguish between the two. The expression &quot;God willing&quot; is common everyday use almost like a &quot;bless you&quot; after a sneeze, or a &quot;thank the Lord&quot; after your food arrives after a long wait

To me I do detect a slight inflection in meaning depending on the exact phrase use...

&quot;God's willing&quot;- seems to imply an attempt to have God fulfill a desire.

&quot;God's will&quot; - Reflects a more passive position of accepting what comes.

The correct saying is from James 4:15 For that ye ought to say, If the Lord will, we shall live, and do this, or that.

mmmmmm Don't recall using it growing up, but in my adult life, I realise I use 'God willing', not often, but it pops up when I am referring to something very important, future plans and such. It can be learned behavior though. I grew up hearing it, and I say it now.
Anyways, I do have a valid reason for saying it. it is not just willy nilly; hence I do not say it often. The reason I say it now-I guess-is because I realise 1. life is not to be taken for granted, 2. plans do change, and 3. we do not know what the future holds-even with all of our well thought out plans,

It is akin to saying 'all being well'- which I say interchangeably at times with 'god's willing'
