That would make them too powerful. They would have too much influence over the local masses.
The financiers and directors of the political class would not allow that to happen.
In other words, they would be destroyed, using the police as the tool of destruction.
You see in Jamaica they don't want a peaceful country if it means that they will lose control of the economy.
They also don't want a string economy if they don't have control of it.
otherwise Jamaica would be a peaceful and crime free place.

And it would be a prosperous place too.
If it was not for the object of keeping jamaia' economy undr the control of that organized group, it would not be as destroyed as it is.

Doc, which group do you think controls the economy in Jamaica? Is this group owners of most land and business in Jamaica? If so, wouldn't it be in their best interest to hinder atrocious violence and crime in Jamaica if only because this owner class would eventually lose on their business and property value?

If, however, you mean that the crime is organized so that it destabilizes the current economy in Jamaica, then why?

Nio such thing .
Not their property.
you believe what you see other write and what they try to make the people believe to much. Look how long the housing in the US was over valued?
Did they lose value until the banks crash??
Who decide the value of property?
And why

If you took economics serious enough you would realize that what goes in on economy does not necessarily go in another.

property values in Jamaica does not affect the value of the people who own the economy.
They decide between themselves what and who they sell to.
They will never sell property to anyone but their selected members. and the member swill always respect the value between themselves
If you want to know who controls Jamaica's economy just do some serious research on the history of Jamaicaa.
Nothing has changed in relation to the ownership of theJamaican economy since the days of colonialism.
They simply pass the ownership between member s of the same clans.

Maybe not,but the churches are full of people who together can make a difference,in most communities perpetrators of crimes live amongst those who call themselves christians,and in most cases are known.

In any case,the crime situation in jamaica is similar to the political partisanship that prevails,some criminals are either feared,or respected,and people remain loyal to known criminals for a variety of reasons,.....the majority of criminals in jamaica ,including murderers,will tell you that they are god fearing,and are fully fledged adherents of the bible,to me there is no seperation between church and criminals,because the church itself is full of criminals.
