religious based aid which I respect the most is the kind that comes with no strings attached, and is just done like in the gospel.

Yeah, the Israelis have been getting their deserved kudos for their work in Haiti. I've seen a number of glowing reports on a number of channels. People are getting helped and lives are being saved, and I suppose that's the important thing, but nations often see these humanitarian catastrophes as opportunities for some good PR. We may think that we are questioning the motives of these countries during a time of disaster when people are suffering and/or dying, and sure, we are, but the conduct of these nations - visible to all who would see - don't simply vanish in view of their otherwise yeoman humanitarian efforts abroad. I wish Israel would expend the energy required to end its human rights abuses in Palestine and to bring about a <span style="text-decoration: underline">just peace</span>. Or this isn't the right time to talk about that?

I agree with you humano.

And this exposes quite succinctly the great issue at hand, because they are at each other's throats over myths.

I think another glaring spot light can be focused on something comepray brings up as well- there have been people working on this issue for how long now, years and years.

where is everybody else, that it take one huge earthquake and how many people dead to get people to see what is wrong.

90 trillion dollars in the &quot;giant pool of money&quot; and counting.

a paltry 3 billion of that would end world hunger as we know it.

it seems like the Israelis were the first ones in and not waiting for protocols or anything!! Search and Rescues, food distro, setting up hospitals.

a bredren of mine was saying that Israel is often first on deck with aid and assistance, but they are often refused. </div></div>
