Can an inter-faith relationship/marriage work?

I mean, ...Really?

These couples sure have another set of issues to work through, knowing there are *some* religions who believe that they are the only true way to truth. How do they reconcile? How about the religious and non-religious person?(eg. the atheist and the christian?)

I am most incline to think -it can work!-

Would I recommend interfaith relationships? mmmmmmmmm Maybe not! Not for the faint hearted, I guess. But...if both parties are willing to pick up the challenge? why not?

Anyways, whatcha think?

yeah, Would be interesting to know if the writer has intimate knowledge of this type of relationship.
Whether they do or not, he/she made some good practical points on the matter, from a relationship point of view, not from a 'biblical' point of view.
It may not work for some, but it may work for others. I do know of a couple in which it works-so far. I am just noting and being somewhat interested in what makes it works for them, knwoing that religion/belief/faith/non-belief is such an integral part of an individual.

Whatever their core values are...let me bring it even closer to home...Christendom. You've got your Adventists, Catholics, Pentecostals, yada yada...right? Can you imagine me being in a relationship with a non-Pentecostal? As Mutty would say...Glory.

People who can't make a success if a person of another denomination of the same religion should never be married to any one.

My parents were originally of different religions.

I attended the both synagogues and church growing up.

My father dies not go to meetings anymore but my mother still go to church.

And They still get along as They always do.

My wife is of a different denomination from me.

I sometimes visit sbd play the keyboard but I am of a different denomination.

It does not affect our relationship.

I was taught That it is each persons right to do whatever They consider thief means of satisfying their need spiritualy.

Afterall it is all in the imagination .
What we know about religion is our conception of what we are taught.

There us no way to confirm it.

Why should that come between people in love And committed to each other?

I think it can work but really will depend on the individuals as well as whether the denomination of their religion teaches tolerance. For instance, I would say a Muslim and an SDA while sharing some basic principles would have picked a hard row to hoe.

Those two seem to have a lot in common.

The worship on a Saturday starting Friday evening.

The don't eat pork.

And the have almost same attitude to The Scriptures.

I picked those two because they do have a lot in common which is why I said they share some basic principles. However, they are both known for extremely literal interpretation of scriptures and other writings, and I think that would turn into a clash greater than the average couple could manage. I think at least one person in the relationship would have to feel as tolerant as you do.

If I were going to pick someone of a different belief system, I think I would go for a Buddhist.
