What if they were planning a mass suicide and the police didn't do anything?

All religious groups are cults,some with larger membership than others,christianity was started by some guy walking around with some other guys preaching non violent approach to the roman occupation,and from that a new cult was formed that only gained more importance when the romans killed the leader and nailed him to a wooden implement.

how is a so-called cult different from most other movements?
practitioners of any religion can be viewed as cultists...
people who vote for leaders can be viewed as cultists...

it's all just the word games that trick the general public...

Regardless of where they came from or if we think they are on the right track or not - the question still remains of how much involvement the general society (example the authorities) should have in their affairs - as suggested by the news article...
