Re: Biblical Prophesy - A question
depends how you look at it...
it also said somewhere in the bible that there is nothing new under the sun;
humanity has had the same issues since forever...
you dabble in the bible so you know-
war, poverty, injustice, greed, slavery, disease, hate, love, longing, redemption, triumph, defeat, deceit, political intrigue...
it's all there in 'the bible' (a collection of books)
the more things change the more they stay the same

Thank you, this is why I ask for specifics. The problem with giving out huge tracts to read, is that it provides enough scope to interpret whatever is convenient to the argument (aka esegesis).
For instance, let us look at Daniel 2. It speaks of a coming time where a Kingdom of God will come and destroy all other kingdoms, and last forever ( (reference 1).
For context, I am also referring to the entire chapter 2 (reference 2)
Can you state with some kind of real-world certainty that this has already happened?

u know i argue from the point of view that while u read the OT to see the workings of God wid his chosen people, the real reference point for Christians is the NT....after all JC said He came to fulfill the OT and to show the Way to Sonship...so the OT has its part as a point of reference but to moi the emphasis for believers is the NT...after all the NT harkens bak to the OT where necessary to show how the fulfillment is

I can think of one really clear non-fulfillment of Biblical prophesy... and that is:
Mark 9:1 And he said unto them, Verily I say unto you, That there be some of them that stand here, which shall not taste of death, till they have seen the kingdom of God come with power.
Luke 9:27 But I tell you of a truth, there be some standing here, which shall not taste of death, till they see the kingdom of God.
Matthew:28 Verily I say unto you, There be some standing here, which shall not taste of death, till they see the Son of man coming in his kingdom.

Ok, so does that mean that the prophesy in the OT has already been revealed in the NT? If so, what about fulfillment of prophesy in the NT? Do we have anything that we can point to specifically that we can say "yes - that specific event was THE fulfillment of Book/Chapter/Verse"?

Evan.....There were ONLY Jews and pagans before the new testament.
So WHO did write all that?
Humanity was not changed by the alleged presence of the son of God on the Earth.
and as soon as he made his first sermon, the Jewish messiah would be shot by the IDF (crucifixion is not in style) and it would be deja vu all over again.

I'm talking about what was going on in the Middle East, the Holyland before the (alleged) birth of Christ.
Everything here relates to the Old and New Testicles
The main religion in the area and amongst the Bible writers then was Judaism since the Old Testament is all Judaic and the New Tentacle is all Christian.
