One of Jesus' most amazing abilities was to heal by touch. I've had a story, movie idea for decades about someone who had this power... and what would happen to him... or her in our times.

People flock to charlatans like Benny Hinn, and holy sights, and hugging gurus, looking to get healed of ailments physical, mental, and spiritual. But can you imagine the chaos if someone's touch could heal a blind person, or as Monk would require, instantly regrow a missing arm or leg by just touching the person? Would such a person ever be allowed to walk through a hospital touching patients one at a time, moving from room to room? Or would there always be a hoard of people surrounding this person? Probably politicians would have this healer in prison within days?... or would scientists get hold of him? What if our healer wasn't religious, would an instant new religion spring up?

Or... if this person did heal tens of thousands for money, how would the government get their taxes? Would the healed be taxed? Wouldn't medicine be turned upside down? Wouldn't the richest get healed, and the poor not get this healing touch ever?

What if our healer guy was from the poor side of the tracks, and he didn't like the rich because of personal reasons, like they had enslaved his forebears, so he wouldn't deal with them very often, and spent his time healing poor people while surrounded by 12(000) special guards that our healer had enlisted to protect him? Then what would happen?

And what about the healed? Could they get over it? Would the shock of going from sick, broken, and in pain, to being whole again be too much for some? Would having been cured make the healed dependent on our healer, and so they couldn't move on? And how would other people regard the healed people?

That would be an interesting take forty, you should write it..great questions..insurance companies and pharmaceutical companies would certainly not be very happy at this person , and yes, I could see the scientists getting a hold of him/her, wanting to find out what 'makes him tick'.
It is part of the church's mandate to do the things that Jesus did, and I do believe miracles occur, not as often as we would like and of course, when it does, it is not getting the publicity that the story should receive.
Probably would be termed 'the terrorist' in today's time

How about if it starts with a burst of tweets on Twitter about a person who has walked into a hospital in DC hospital with another older person. They quickly walk though a dozen rooms just touching recovering patients and moving on? There are a couple of blurry camera shots of him... or her... our healer is wearing a hoody and jeans. The patients are all in the post op recovery section. One man had just lost his leg to diabetes, and a whole new leg appears instantly. And there is an obese person who has had complications with a stomach clamp, and the clamp disappears from inside him, and so does 175 lbs off the man. Nurses start screaming ... it is visitors hour and a few people are visiting patients that get healed... there are interviews later with these people. These photos flash around the world in an hour. The hospital turns chaotic, and the two quickly walk out. One young man runs after our hero trying to take photos with his cell phone.

Soo... who should the story be about? A healed person... all the healed people? Or our healer? Should he do this again and again while different jealous groups... politicians or scientists or the Pope's secret police try to find him... or her. How about there is a person who holds the door open for our hero when he is leaving the hospital... and this person's hand just brushes the healer's hand, and he is healed of &quot;unknown&quot; ailments, but feels &quot;reborn&quot; health wise... perhaps a young doctor doing his internship... and he realizes in the first minutes that something amazing has not only happened in the hospital but to him personally... internally... and mentally?

There are so many cool ways these &quot;healings&quot; could all be done cinematography (sort of the reverse of the &quot;pink mist&quot; that has been soo common in movies these days.)

Well for sure if something like this happened it wouldn't be much different than if someone had walked into a hospital and shot a dozen people. The cops would come, and they would seal off the place. EVERYONE would have to be interviewed... and &quot;they&quot; would try to control the hysteria... but it would be impossible. Can you imagine the nightly news casts? And the interviews with the healed on Good Morning America? Surely within some short amount of time most of the people in the world would have heard about this event, and most would have seen the few blurry images of our hero? An event like this would be like a spaceship landing... wouldnt it?

This movie wouldn't work out.
The Tea Party people and all the conservatives would see it all as a ploy by Obama to push through his &quot;socialized&quot; medicine program unless they could get Jesus to charge the astronomical sums normally associated with medical cures and exclude the poor as our good old American rugged individualist health care program does now.

Having someone with his heart locked on helping humanity's suffering and not charging anything would also be seen by the right wingers as a lefty media way of pointing out that the Cubans are doing just that in Haiti fighting the Cholera epidemic.

Like Johnnycakes says... many many people will not believe that this happened. The healed people will be well documented, but still most people will that these miracles are complex conspiracies of one kind or another. The media will be full of talking heads debating the stories, and the few images of our hero... and his friend... or companion will be everywhere. Many Christians will believe that the second coming has happened. Similar stories will start appearing weekly... although none are documented like the DC case. And there's will a constant blather in the media about &quot;sitings.&quot;

A couple of months after the DC General Miracles (as they have become known as) a strange video appears on Youtube and goes viral. I appears to show two men in a swarm of bees, and yet they are seem to be sorting in the cloud of insects. After a few minutes they emerge from the cloud followed by trailing thousand of drones.

Our bee keepers appear to be putting &quot;new&quot; queens into bee houses. And creating half a dozen new varieties.

Im thinking that our heroes are gardeners... and the garden has a few flaws and these guys show up and tweak how things are going and maybe show us some possibilities. Our mission... if you choose to accept it... is to come up with a series of miracles... and how they would unfold.
