In his days Judah shall be saved, and Israel shall dwell safely; and this is HIS name whereby he shall be called THE LORD OUR RIGHTEOUSNESS.

but, then you look atJerimiah Chapter 33 verse 16 and it says:

In those days shall Judah be saved, and Jerusalem shall dwell safely: and this is the name wherewith SHE shall be called"

what virgin birth thing?
are you referring to the legend of jesus' birth? as that is not the only virgin birth story in earth

your view of 'god' seems limited to judeo-christian legends...that is merely one sect's interpretation of creation...there are others as well

michaelangelo was just an artist who painted a picture...i would not go so far as to call the character in the painting a true depiction of 'god'

None of what I posted was meant to be taken seriously.
I am an atheist. I do not believe in a God or gods.
It is a waste of your time to argue the details of religion/faith with me for that reason.
I do think that many of the teachings of Christ and the Golden Rule are valuable but these do not rely on the existence of a God for their validity and are already incorporated in the principles of socialism and communism which I try to follow.

What bothers me is that certain questions that arise--such as and for example one member raised was where did Cains wife come from? because too me there would only be two possibilities given the evidence contained in the &quot;good book&quot;.
or does good love everyone---because 99.95% of Christians will tell you YES. which, within the bible itself proves this is false, and when you ask a Christian to show you where in the bible it specifically says this---they cant show you, and then you are seen.
So therefore to hold my argument, i know do what they do--ARM myself with there knowledge and refute it with there script.

I understand where you're coming from but faith does not require fact nor logic.

If religion, faith in a supreme being, the Virgin Birth , the deity of Christ could be proven factually they wouldn't need faith.

Faith obviates the need for logic or fact.

There is no arguing with a person who believes based solely on faith.

There is something of that way of thinking in right wing politics in that the right will either refuse to look at anything that refutes their beliefs or as recent studies show, if confronted with factual evidence they get even further into what they already believe and shut out that factual evidence that contradicts their long held and cherished beliefs.

A true depiction of God is nothing but a perception. God belongs to no religion. God is neither a he nor she nor thing.
God is you, the spirit we seek within that knows best and worst the choices we make.
If good, we give thanks. If not so good we ask for help, within.
Most of us however seeketh divinity from outside, an idol
Christianity has painted Jesus the Christ, the God or the son of god, a person supposedly made identifiable by lesser mortals.
We see God in the mountains, the valleys, the rocks and stones, the sand and gravel, each having its purpose on planet Earth.
We see God in the mighty lion, we see God in the meek old mouse.
We see God wherever we perceive God to be, in glory and in humility, whenever we want God to be.

The greatest fear, friend or foe comes by those who wish to impose their rightousness on others. It can be good as well as it can be not too good. Depends
