SmoothOperator,
Please watch this one and tell me where exactly Hitchens comes even CLOSE to being in error.
I've been asking for someone to do that for a while and no one seems willing to try.
There is another video of another Hitchens debate in which he explains that he is not only an atheist but an ANTI-THEIST meaning he actively fights against religions because of the great evil he amply proves it is.
Prior to watching his debates with a great number of clergy and theologians I used to think that religions had some problems that religions have caused the world much strife and suffering through the ages but that if people were foolish enough to believe that stuff, it was relatively harmless in these times.
Hitchens proves that it remains the bane of our existence and like Nazism or racism, religion is something to actively fight against.
I hesitate to use the word crusade for obvious reasons but that does best describe what he was engaged in and why he is so vehement in his denunciations of organized religions.
