That seems like a reasonable assumption OR just as reasonable is that some race did arise, did evolve and became the non-corporeal intelligences Kurzweil envisions.

Those beings would not have much in common with us at this our early stage of that possible future. We would be like ants are to people; too primitive to be of interest to a super intelligence.

We have IQ points but we watch &quot;Family Guy&quot; and porn or Oprah or Judge Judy. At this still low stage of development many you can see out in broad daylight are mouth breathing knuckle draggers who wouldn't look out of character in a wooly mammoth 3-piece.
We are on the edge of that big leap but we are not yet close to intellectually soaring like eagles.

Were you to offer the hoi polloi eternity, they'd be too busy to take you up on it ( or look up what eternity means) because they were in the middle of a video game or American Idol.

We will all be well educated but IQs will differ as always.
IQs may POSSIBLY be raised with some DNA manipulation and we still don't know what uncharted areas of the brain are intended for so who knows? Maybe evolution has something in mind. (pun intended)


Smarter people would not hold &quot;absurd&quot; beliefs like racism, belief in magic, ghosts.
Everyone would be free to believe what they want but no intelligent person would belief absurdities and even those not-so-bright would not want to be thought of as ignorant.

When the overwhelming majority of people no longer believe in gods, neither will they teach their children to believe in gods and the future will have a society in which belief in the God of today will seem as backward and foolish as we consider the practice of sacrificing people to the (once valid) volcano god or the worshipers of any of the other 1000 gods we, as a race, have invented.

What's that saying about leaving the toys of childhood behind.

think of it this way.

we are well ahead of most creatures on this planet in many ways.

i would be willing to bet my left arm that if at any point a scientist could be told they could communicate in some fashion with any of these less technologically advanced creatures, they would in a heart beat, <span style="font-style: italic">insist</span> on communicating.

right now we have scientists cracking the speech of elephants, whales, dolphins, communication is possible with some apes via sign language etc...

i cant see one good reason why some advanced entities would not communicate with us, even if xhamster continues to get hits every day.

life is fascinating.

if ants were 40 years behind us technologically, and we became post singularity and that event threshold allowed us to reach out beyond our race and engage in meaningful exchanges...how could we not.

Interesting. The Overlords ended wars, and a Golden Era prevailed, but the planet was destroyed anyway in a few generations... and creativity seemed to disappear... in that story.

Ideally? I can't say. We all know the same stuff now. We are taught the same things in school until college and then we branch off into our fields of chosen expertise.
I suspect that will continue as people have differing talents and likes and dislikes.
