Faith is nuttin but unverified thought, there is no proof in faith or belief. God said you shall KNOW the truth he didn't say believe in the truth, and as for thing hoped for let's check dese out.

Romans 8:24

24 For we are saved by hope: but hope that is seen is not hope: for what a man seeth, why doth he yet hope for?
25 But if we hope for that we see not, then do we with patience wait for it.

Since we were brought here we've been waiting with patience for Jesus The Christ to return, we've been hoping for that day because for over 500 years he's been coming soon.</span>

Not just Christians, but Muslims and Buhddists etc all religions have programmed the ppl into doctrine.</span>

Yes I too admit to that, but its not the fault of the bible, but rather of the interpreters of the bible who wish it is to make sheeple of people.

Jesus came to free the people from the parasitical (Pharisaical) authority of the priesthood, who today have been replace by the pastors ministers etc. The bible constantly advises one to seek wisdom and understanding

The biblical Hebrew and Aramaic definitions of the word for faith meant 'steadfastness'.
The biblical Greek word for 'faith' means 'belief'.
Modern English defines the word 'faith' as trustfulness or belief. (these are the pertinent definitions for this context)

Faith is what it is. One either has it or one does not. Obviously, the faithful of many religions will say that it is a good thing. Those who hold no such beliefs will either have no opinion, or else will enjoy bashing religion and claim that faith is a bad thing.

What makes "blind faith " a misnomer?

Faith is tool that should be rightfully used to find truth not to stand in the place of truth... A bridge used to get to truth., a light that shows the way but not The Way. Instead today most Western Christian used faith as reason or excuse to stop seeking truth, using it as the answer for what they do not understand or to hide from what they do not wish to deal with.

When faith is used to hide truth or to hide from truth then it becomes "blind faith" for you have embark on a course of action of which you do not understand why you are doing that which you are doing nor can you appreciate the consequence of your actions or where they lead.

I find all those definitions good especially "steadfastness".

First... faith is a good thing when used properly.
When faith is used as a crutch to relieve the responsibility of conscious thought it is mind numbing and bad. As it now becomes a perfect tool for imprisoning the mind in a world of circular arguments and reasoning's that answer only to the official authority.....making unthinking sheeps of people.

There is more than one meaning to being a sheep. You won't insult an intelligent Christian that way; s/he will merely choose to take the term in the good way, and smile, and move on. It is a good thing to be one of Our Lord's sheep - guided, loved, cared for, tended lovingly, fed and nurtured, highly valued... but make no mistake, such sheep are definitely <span style="text-decoration: underline">not</span> unthinking! One single sheep, to a good shepherd, is extremely important; how much <span style="font-weight: bold">more important</span> is one of us - a human being - to THE Good Shepherd? (the answer is: infinitely)

No.....I use the bible as my guide as to the proper use of faith.

No matter how you spin it sheep are mindless creatures that are easily led, and often the shepherd plans for his sheep are not in the best interest of the sheep - as they are about to be fleeced - swindled and consumed - fattened for the plate.

Human beings are not sheep and should not considered themselves as such, nor should they behave like sheeps.
