Would be nice if that was true, but look at how many ppl refuse to see even with new information. They either choose not to hear it, not decipher or research it, they're more comfortable with what they think they know.

I visit a couple religious blogs and people are asking tough, very tough questions about religious belief and the holy books like the bible. I do get the sense that big changes are coming. But the way I see it is the future of religion is not no religion, or even less religion but a religion that is focused more on ethics, morals and values. And if you listen to some of these evangelists on TV - they have gradually moved away from fire and brimstone sermons and what they are teaching and saying is not fundamentally different from the kind of thing you would hear coming from motivational speakers.
