do you think jumpers change their mind in mid steam? i've thought about what they feel on the way down, do they suddenly realize what they've done and realize it's too late?


i'm asking because i stumbled upon a documentary about the golden gate bridge suicides. i won't post it here, because it may be a bit queezy for some people, but it's searchable enough.

Never thought about it really. Maybe they feel finally free at last.

By the time someone has resolved to commit suicide, they are past the point of second guessing their decision. Think of it as crossing the point of no return; the only viable solution to whatever situation they are facing is taking themselves out.

In the town I use to live in, they built a large nine story parking garage to help bring people back to the downtown core. What they didn't count on was that it was going to become the favourite place for jumpers to come and end it.

I would agree with this. They are just totally focused on ending their suffering. The fall would be so quick, not much time to think about anything except to maybe realize that this is truly the end.
