OK What exactly did they teach in Bible Knowledge class in Jamaica?

The reason I ask is that the lack of knowledge of Bible fundamentals and the basics of the Christian faith on this board are appalling. Was the class strictly scripture memorization?

On the whole, it doesn't seem to have done Jamaica much good.

As far as I know BK was mandatory. I may be mistaken but I did hear of some young people and the only O level they had was in BK.

yeah it was... till fifth form then we had a choice chemistry or RE.... it was however not considered a o level if it was needed a qualification.... I tried to drop every year without success.....

it was a descriptive of christianity.... i averaged zero in every exam.... from first form,,,,,, I once told Merle Roper the head masters wife that the solution to all the world problems was to execute all chrisitians in General Paper/// I then presented the Hegelian argument that Taino Genocide, Marxism Fascism and Apartheid were a direct result of the evolution of Christian philosophy/// She got extremely angry and tried to kick me out the class... I pointed out she could not given she started a discussion on the development of the world issues and used christianity as a solution......and her argument was void given that Islam and kamunism made the identical claim.....

Rember we had intolerant christian equivalent of the Taliban as headmaster.... When I left I told him he had the personality and politics of general Franco.....three quarters of the teachers subscribed to christian fundamentalism,,,,

Oh so it is more like comparative religious studies than Bible knowledge per se. Has this always been the case?

So they should not call it Bible Knowledge. They should call it Comparative Religious Studies.

I am just confirming with my Mom that way back it was a study of the Bible and memorization of verses but even back then there was no examination of the historicity of the Bible, archaeological evidence, etc.
