Why didn't Hibbert & Hinds join the Ethiopian Orthodox Church

First of all they have the coolest services....ever....albeit a bit intimidating the first time I saw a video with their Christmas service, they have really grown on me.

I mean if they were looking for something Afrocentric, this fits the bill. Why make up a new religion? Also Haile Selassie also played a prominent role in the reforms of the church.

I am going to have to make time to pay them a visit. They have at least one congregation in Toronto. There is also a Coptic Church near me I think I will check out.

matthew, luke and dem man deh were pioneers of a new movement--which sprang from the hebrew lineage;
by your question one would ask why these people did not just join the original judaism instead of the newer christianity---
christianity would not exist if the early pioneers had simply joined the synagogue which preceded the movement instead of branching off...
to them, "jesus christ" WAS the messiah

if you call yourself a christian then you are not practicing judaism--- even though one came out of the other;
so why don't you join the jewish synagogue?

you can't seem to grasp the concept that movements emerge from other movements and you can't simply tell those movements just go back & join back the first movement;

"jeezas" was a rebel who challenged the synagogue system and the establishment---
if he walked right now he would be scorned by most of the people who now call themselves his title "christus" or "christ" and consider themselves decent upholders of his movement

There is a difference between natural evolution and just making something up out of thin air. I have the same issue with Kwanzaa....though it does have some ancient roots.
