The Junior wanted one a couple years ago, but after a few days, he decided he didn't want to touch her, so Hayley became mine by default. Hayley died after about two years, and it is the hardest thing for me to think of replacing her. I had no idea I had become so attached to her, but I guess I was.

CEW sorry for the loss of your pet. Give it time and if you want another pet that is ok.

The lost pet has its special place in your heart always.

my son's class hamster died recently and he was upset about it for a while too.

you can never "replace" a pet that has passed on When my dog died it took me 3 years to finally decide to get another dog.... I still miss her

Oh CEW, it is a very hard thing to cope with losing a beloved pet. You can never really replace them, but if you have love in your heart to give to another, then to me, that always seems to help.

Thanks all At some point I would love to get another one, but I'm not there just yet. A part of that may have to do with their relatively short life-span, and it seems like a heartbreak waiting to happen once it comes home. It's only a pet, but still...

I lost a pup in January, he was just one year. He died very unexpectedly. We are still grieving for him but we have adopted another pup, as we have lots of love to give.

Every pet has their own personality (which is hard to explain to non-animal lovers) and we always remember them with much love Another pet does NOT replace them but giving love to another surely helps
