Animal Phobias (lizards)

While reading about non-pet owners I was reminded about how some people have strong negative feelings about certain animals.

In Jamaica I cant count the people who were freaked out by lizards. Some of them if there was a lizard in the house there was no going to sleep if there was one in the house. Ive seen a machete out to defend against one.

Once I saw a gal in Jamaica with arachnophobia. She screamed at the top of her voice and leaped up on the bed... jumping up and down and screaming. I never saw anything like it before or since.

I could never fall asleep with a lizard in my bedroom

I would spend the nite watching him or wondering where him was..(ie : if him in mi bedsheets crawling towards me head or something

I freak out I simply lose it, once in jamaica some friends were going rafting decided to go along, when the tour guide announced that the alligator/crocodile in the river was friendly I told him strait up he whacko in the head, I just left bout alligator friendly.

One night we see frog hop inna mi room an chree big man nah touch di dyam ting fi mek ie leff... mi affi carna di frog an catch im wid mi hands.
See dem all back wey fram mi cyarryin di likkle frog.

Snakes nah baddah mi so much, but a least mi unnstand di fear.

Now mek wi talk bout ting like wasp an harnet an yellow-jacket tings wha sting...

I like all living creatures except for fuzzy spiders. I draw the line at those.

You have a point ... it never made sense to me when people started keeping these big lizards and snakes for pets... they were &quot;goths&quot; before there were goths.

I amno afraid of any thing, person nothing, alive ir not. dangerous or not. i will take appropriate precausion, but no phobias that I am aware of..

The furry creatures call mice and hampster! You want to see a grown woman act a fool then put one on them on the loose around me, and to think that people have them as pets.

For some reasons spiders and lizards dont bother me, dont get me wrong I dont want them crawling on me but I dont freak out when I see them.

I don't have any phobias cept seeing a roach....or down here LARGE roaches aka/ water bugs. Other than that nuttin bothers me, mouse, hampster, snake or spider. Too many bugs and animals outside in the night.

Oh...once a big rat, HUGE...I mean huge was climbing on the thatch in the night in Jamaica...now THAT bothered me

I have a serious serious musophobia(mice) problem! I can't function with one around me or especially in my house. To me they are demonic! Bats scare me as well but they are so rare in the cities.

me too ..That's why I love cats. There were created for that divine purpose. To rid the world of such hideous creepy crawlers..
