I saw a dog today that is very lucky to be alive. Hopefully they got to it in time so she doesn't end up with permanent liver damage. The owner used Sargent's flea treatment on it and within an hour it started drooling. When I first saw the dog she was standing in the bath tub soaking wet after having been rinsed and bathed and washed several times over. She was standing there drooling just terrible and looking pretty sick.
After several washings she finally stopped drooling. Time will tell if she has permanent damage. I heard today that this is pretty common with the Hartz and Sargents brands of flea/tick control.
I would ONLY use the stuff from the vet, like Frontline etc.
Just a word of caution and heads up. The sick dog today was a young Doberman and it hurt me bad to watch her in that kind of condition!
Why the owner let the dog drool all night without throwing her in the tub and giving her an immediate bath I'll never know but that is what should have been done! Oh yeah and I would have been running to the vet no matter what time of day or night it was!
