Thanks Marilyn, and all for the condolences. This new pup has kept me too busy to think about, or do much. I named her Rosebud cuz she is a "Rez" dog...and the Rosebud Reservation was where Red Cloud settled....into a fine white colonial house...He was kind of a controversial figure amongst Native Americans...because, although he was the prime advocate early on in battling white settlers, he was also one of the first of the Lakotas leaders to settle on a rez.
Also, the pup looks part Dobie like Nan's Rosebud...though now I'm beginning to suspect it's just an overgrown Chihuahua.

She is gorgeous! I think she looks Doberman and Shepard. I have seen the cross before it seems like a good match. Loyal & protective, and a tru blue friend!

I love the Rosebud story! I had never heard it before and it's very interesting. When I picked my Rosebud up from the shelter they said her name was "Ginger". I wasn't having any of that and I thought she was pretty like a rose so that's what I chose...I like Dude's story better!
