Thanks Nanook I will give the scat mat & x mat a try.

The flying shoe works too.. He has calmed down some but when we are not there who knows what he is up to.

the scat mats look long enough to cover the bay window and keep him off permanently

Rosebud will remove the XMats from the couch but it isn't her I am trying to keep off. It's the pins that have beds scattered everywhere around the house for their comfort that I don't want to have dominating my couch so hooray, they work wonderfully. They know they can only come up here if invited!

I am excited to hear the pennies in a can works so well. I can hardly wait to try it! There have been instances when I've seen Paris think about counter surfing and she gonna get that flying can if I see her even entertaining the thought! I'm gonna set a trap for her and put the dog food bowl on the kitchen table while the food soaks and see what happens!

Update: We had an electric fence in the back to keep kissy from digging and decided to repurpose it to keep clancy in the house

MrKia had extra wire , ran it by the window and front door and moved the transmitter to a closet. Clancy watched closely as the drilling and wiring took place. Clancy watched as MrKia took out the fence collar and tested it. Clancy ran as mrKia walked over with the fence collar

but we had success. Clancy ran to the window to jump on it, got a shock and walked away. Clancy ran to the open door (it was our test) felt the shock (because we stopped him before he could get out) and backed away.

the electronic fence wiring has to be in a loop format so it was wired down through the basement workshop. Clancy followed me into the workshop, *zap* , and backed away.



Later this evening mrKia went to give Clancy his medicine, Clancy ran away from him

I hope he will regain his trust in MrKia again (((Clancy who needed a hardball lesson)))

ooh havent read the rest yet but similar episode on "its me or the dog"
dog get barking at people when they came to the front door. tney had to be trained to sit quietly when the doorbell rang.

Oh Kia that is so funny! pretty innovative scheme on you and Mr. Kia's part to extend the fence wiring into the house. Sounds like it's working though and it sounds like anything you can do to stop the potentially dangerous jumping at the window that works is a good thing!

Poor Mr, Kia. Clancy is no dummy that's for sure. Poodles are very good at problem solving!

I saw the episode on &quot;It's me or The Dog&quot; this morning Gen! I only caught part of it as I was busy with the dogs but I did see Victoria at the door giving stern warnings and then later outside feeding chicken to the dog to divert his attention from the mailman as he passed by several times. The dog associated the mailman with something pleasant and stopped going bonkers when mail was being delivered.

I have just assumed that he does it when we are not home too. He is crated most of the time when we are not home for his own safety. He once tore up blinds in a front window. There were kids playing out front. When we pulled up they said &quot;Barney tore up the blinds bad. Wait till you see.&quot; I think they were messing with him.

OMG. That is NOT GOOD....about the kids.

Were they playing in front because they live there and need to play in front? Or are they neighbors getting a kick out of antagonizing poor Barney? This part is confusing. That is just wrong if they KNOW that them being there makes him go beserk and they don't move away to somewhere else.

Poor Barney &amp; you if it is, but I hope this is not the case.

We don't live there any more.
They lived down the street. He knew them and they would pet him if we were walking.
I think they were out there and saw his reaction so they kept it up to see him get nutty.

It is really bad. That is why kids get bitten sometimes. And the dog pays with his life. In Broward county (where I live) there is a one strike policy. Very unfair!

When I lived in Dorchester in the 80's I had a Pit female. She loved kids. My car was in the shop (so they thought I was not home.) I woke up to banging on my bedroom window. They were in the empty lot beside the house. So these little monsters came there to do that. I ran them and threatened to tell the parents if it happened again. I tried to talk to the kids next time I saw them on the street. They looked me in the face and said it was not them. I never did talk to the parents (every one knew that the parents were alcoholics). I did have a friend of mine talk to their older sister. (Her brother was married to the sister.)

Another time 3 older kids (teens) were throwing rocks at her in the side yard. I heard her barking so I went out and got hit with a rock.I yelled at them and they got mouthy.I put her on the leash and chased them up the street. (I was young and crazy then).Two of them were brothers. One of them went home and told the mother. She was ok about it. Said he'd handle her kids if they troubled me or my dog. But don't chase them with the dog again. (Too bad it was the 3rd kid that had the most mouth)

The sad thing is that girl really loved kids.

We moved! It is all good.
But people need to watch their kids and teach them to respect and be kind to animals.
