Re: a dog's day
i ordered this - i will have it monday - thanks
and tomorrow i will hit up the food stores
i remember the vet saying that Sheba may have been a northern dog (she had some tick borne thingy that the vet said she never sees here) - this may be a consequence of that - trying to get her florida coat
thanks for the advice
may give the vet a call and have her check that the antibiotics worked
ETA: tick borne disease: ehrlichia canis

Re: a dog's day
Oh cool, you got the furminator! I know you will love it! I see some reviews by people that say it shredded hair. Well, you can shred hair with any brush if you use it wrong, or have matts as those would have to be removed first but you no have that worry!
I think it will be fine on Sheba's coat, but I wouldn't use it on my Standard Poodle and my Pinschers don't have enough hair for me to bother as they haven't got a lot of hair.

Re: a dog's day
Good luck Seveen! Did the furminator help at all? I hope there is nothing wrong with Sheba other than just the fact it will take a little while to straighten out her system until the full effect shows up in her coat. You might just hear that Lab's do shed though. I did ask at the grooming shop and an answer was that fish oil in her diet may help. You might want to ask the vet if grain free food might help too...

Ouchy!
Dogs shed. "Excessive shedding" sounds to my grumpy ears like a hook to bring you back to the vets... who knows what "excessive" means?
This website looks sounds realistic to me http://ezinearticles.com/?Cures-for-...s&id=84288

Re: a dog's day
i'm going to take a picture of the hair i've sweep up today - and some is coming out in clumps
it's enough to be a yorkie or Pomeranian
the shedding is also accompanied by itching - doc said she saw no fleas tho'
i'm also gonna remove the bedding from her crate - she may be allergic to it
you can brush her and brush her and the hair keeps coming
she is getting some very thin spots under her arms (arms - lol) and legs
i am also working on her diet
she's such a sweetie
