She looks like she's got the hump. And who could blame her?

It took two hours of sitting still for Cindy the poodle to be transformed into this haughty camel.


Owner Sandra Hartness, an expert dog groomer, insists her pet loves all the preening and prodding required.

Using harmless food dyes, chalks and some strategic clipping, she has changed her part-time poodle into a dragon, a chicken and even a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle.

In her first competition, Missy Gullet a Native American from Iowa, cut her friend’s chocolate Standard Poodle into a buffalo.

Sandy Blackburn, author of The Everything Dog Grooming Book, started with black poodle rescued off Petfinder.com, but now has Jasmine, who is white -- well, until this summer when she became purple.

Blackburn, who runs the Groom Room Pet Spa in Attica, Ind. groomer says that since she had two boys, she enjoys playing dress-up with her dog.

Wild eh! I can attest to the fact that they love the hours spent getting groomed though. I have never dyed Paris (yet) but she spends some hours a week laying on her grooming table and getting preened by me. She loves it. Yesterday she was falling asleep and rolled over and I caught her just before she fell off!

All ya have to do is keep tellin them how pretty they are and they are happy for the attention. I can go outside and Paris will stay laying on her table.
