Re: Largest Dog fighting Ring EVER....raided
Another abuse story:
CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (AP) - A man has pleaded guilty to animal
cruelty for clipping his puppy's ears in Hamilton County.
At a court hearing Wednesday, Oswaldo Padilla-Garcia reluctantly
agreed to give up his now-19-week-old pit bull pup named "Rux,"
to pay $1,200 for recovery care and to stay away from all dogs for
a year.
Animal services division Capt. Dianna Burrow told the
Chattanooga Times Free Press the ear clipping is common among those
who want to train dogs to fight.
Rux was in court as Padilla-Garcia denied participating in any
illegal dog fighting.
A neighbor reported seeing the ear cutting and authorities
arrived to find the dog whimpering and bleeding and a pair of
rusty, bloody scissors.
It is not illegal to clip a dog's ears if the animal receives
anesthesia and a veterinarian's care.

Re: Largest Dog fighting Ring EVER....raided
Nancy, I agree. I just can't imagine what kind of human being could do this! No regard for life at all.
If we had stiffer laws to punish these idiots maybe they would think twice before doing it. I wish they would let a pack of dogs bite off their backside den they would know how they feel....I know that's not the answer either but it just makes you so angry with the way the law deals with them. Although, Vic got a bit of punishment.....most likely cause him a celebrity.

Empathy is so important. I believe that parents are responsible for teaching their children empathy, and empathy can only be taught by example. Empathy is a border line, an event boundary. If the crying of your neighbor doesn't bother you, because it is not you, then nothing, not even the words of Jesus can change you. "Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me." You have got to feel empathy, not just believe in it.
