lawd, mi couldnt watch it fi long. poor horse needs horsey companions. instead he's surrogate mate for this lady (not implying anything untoward). anthropomorphism sucks.

never thought of that. horses ARE pack animals.

I finally caught time to watch the video. I think it's wonderful! Nah worry MGee, that is a HAPPY horse! There are so many worse things that can happen to an animal than a loving home such as this.

Though horses are herd animals (dogs are pack animals), and I once thought not much was sadder than a lone horse in a pasture, my thinking changed when my Bucko ended up a lone horse after his mate died.

I was either going to move him to a friends farm to be with her horses, or borrow another horse to keep Bucko company...but as it turned out Bucko was very content and happy right here with me and the dogs, and no other horse. I was sure of it and so was my horse expert friend who runs a boarding and training facility.

Anyway, I didn't move him or get another horse and we spent hours in my yard talking to each other and hanging out. Not to the extreme this horse is living but Bucko was pretty much like a big ole yard dog who would come and look in the windows to see what I was doing and ever since the sad day 2 years ago when he left me, my back yard is a very lonely place.


I loved the video Sue even though it made me miss my boy terribly. The 2nd anniversary of losing him is coming up and heavy on my mind these days. My yard will never be the same is all I know for sure. I feel bad for this lady when I think about the sad day this horse leaves the world.
