Just wanted to post an update.

Kissy is still here with us. She moved off the Rimadyl onto Deramaxx and now she does not want the Deramaxx.


The vet put her on a special dog food that reduces the size of the poops so when she has an accident, it is less of an issue to deal with.

Kissy sleeps all day and takes her time walking but the Mr is not ready yet ~sigh~. I on the other hand can hardly watch her walk as it pains me but do take time to pet her and tell her what a good faithful girl she is and whatever she wants to do we are ok with it (except the poo in the house part)

Dang. I have been down this road more than I care to count. There is nothing easy about it. When it is really time, you will all know... Until then, I'm sure she is enjoying her attention.

Kissy's hind legs are atrophying and with that comes the pooping in the house and difficulty standing for awhile as well as getting up &amp; down. Vet says give her Tramadol for the pain. Kissy sniffs out her food and wont take it. Kissy is not giving us any signs that it is time to go but she does move slowly and is taking her time moving about.

Is it time? or near time? </div></div>

Back in the day I gave my old girl Sybil a drug called &quot;bute&quot; / something like butamine. Unfortunately it fried her kidneys. Thankfully they have better options now.

It is so hards to see our old friends age.

It is time.. She is telling me it is time. The vet says she is on borrowed time. The rest of the family is not ready. ~sigh~

Thanks all. She could barely walk today and had a very sad look in her eyes. She told us all she was ready

She was the perfect dog and will be missed

right now I feel more relief than hurt because I could see she was ready. She went peacefully this evening at the vet's office.

Kia, I've been following along through this whole thread &amp; could really feel your pain.....it's almost like losing a child....I'm so sorry for your whole family
