...my prissy cat (abandoned to me by daughter unit)goes out hunting for hours and then brings mice in the house for a game of hide and seek, for as long as they last. I just picked one up that was alive 10 minutes ago. What can you do about this tortuous behavior in an otherwise sweet loving cat? Can't she jus keep em outside?

Good luck with that. Tango does the same thing. Well...not so much anymore after countless horrified screams escaped my lungs.

The worst was years ago when I woke up to a crunching sound coming from under my bed. As I laid there wondering what the sound could be it got louder and louder so I got up to investigate.

I turned on the light and low and behold....

My cat had a headless rabbit under my bed! You wanna hear SCREAMS!!!!! I had to call for help with that one. To this day I can still hear the sound of bunny skull crunching...

Tango is 14 now and has a cat door but he doesn't bring that kind of thing n the house anymore. Either he figured out what my horrified screams were about or he's just old and not as ambitious and eats his prey outside,

The head? Must be the tastiest part cause I see all sorts of headless prey out in my yard perimeter. Birds, rodents, etc.

Hey, what about head cheese you see at the grocery store? Oh God if that isn't gross I don't know what is but there you have it...

i would die if i saw mice or headless rabbits in my house.

Tango is a good hunter! Rabbit must have been almost as big as him. Awww I didn't realize he was 14. Him a senior now.

Tango is a great hunter. Part of me hates that about him. I think the rabbit was bigger than he is!

Well Dude, wait till Betty brings you something big! I still have nightmares about the headless rabbit. That was the grossest thing I have ever witnessed!

Nooks, back at the lake the rabbit deal wuz happening with my other cats. Little bunny babies. We got two big domesticated ones that ran free in our yard and they were left alone unless they started doin their "rabbit thing" out in the open, then my cat would go break em up.

Oatmeal (family pet - very samll long-haired cat) was the queen of the hunters ... until she almost died from eating the head of a diseased bird ... it nearly killed her ... I thought my mother was going to die right along with her ... anyway, she slowly but surely recovered and never again left another headless animal on the deck

I think about that stuff, Chi.....the birds she brings in, she doesn't eat.....and most of em she doesn't kill....so I have the job of ushering them back out of the house (minus a few feathers).

I leave the bathroom window open when I leave and sometimes when she's not in by nightfall. There's coyotes and other stuff around here. Merikan pet. what can I say?

here's a pic taken a year an a half ago in Wa. state, ....she was killing so many rodents in this place we were renting -that we had an exterminator come out. He told the landlord to offer us money for her, when we left.
