Favorite breeds

I will sooner or later adopt a female puppy from a shelter or rescue group.

I have my mind on a Pit mix or American Bulldog mix. some other breeds that interest me are Black mouth Cur and Catahoula Leopard dog mixes. I see Cur mixes and Catahoula mixes in shelters on the west coast of Florida and further north in Florida. I have seen beautiful pit or Am bulldog Catahoula mixes around Tampa.

I would avoid pure breed Catahoula's because I do not have an acre or more of yard.

I had a Pit female for 13 years (her life) and an American bulldog mix for her 12 year life. I had a male Dobie for his 11 1/2 year life as well.

I would consider a Dobie mix too.

My Shar Pei mix has skin issues (worse than my dobie did). So although I like Shar Pei's I was not thinking about another one. But, I saw a female Catahoula - Shar Pei mix on Pet Finder that was gorgeous and reported to have a great personality / disposition Unfortunately she was in Tennessee.

I am curious about other people favorite breeds or "dream mix".
What breeds do you like? What would be your dream mix breed?

The dog we have was the only one we all liked on the humane society web site. They said he was a 3 month old Shar Pei - German Shepard mix.

As soon as I saw him in person I knew he was mixed with some smaller breed (the paws were small). The Vet said he was closer to 5 months. But he is the best thing since sliced bread.

Any one ever owned or known personally a Catahoula Leopard Dog or Black Mouth Cur?

I see a rescue group with Am bulldog Catahoula mix puppies. I am tempted but should probably wait till we buy (currently renting but pets ok is in my lease)I also never known a Catahoula. They look awesome. I like what I have read about them (except needing an Acre of land)

Barney and I have gotten lazy. We would definately be walking more. We do have a good sized fenced yard (but it is 4 ft not 6)

We kept our Bouvier's hair cut short... they look like a dobie.

I tend to like short haired dogs so I would probably keep his hair cut short too.

I did the pet match thing on Save a Dog. The results were Anatolian Shepard and Black russian Terrier. I have never met either one.
