Losing old friends

I talked to a friend in Texas last night. Her 15 year old cat is winding down (has cardiac and thyroid issues).
We had not talked in a few years. She called me because I gave her the cat right after her and her husband split up. His Mom was a pregnant stray I rescued from my brothers yard because the land lord (my mother) said they could not keep her.

She has had him since he was 6 weeks old. She brought him with her from Boston when she moved to Texas.

I really feel bad for her. It is so hard losing a pet who has been like your child. She swears she will never have another pet.

I know the feeling only too well. (((hugs))) to you and your friend. it's hard. It sucks. You never get over it. ever.

I does suck. I swore I would never get another dog after Pebbles died. But 2 years later we got Barney. I can not imagine life with out him (skin problems and all )

My money's on her changing her mind

I lost Felix after 19 years (rescued him off the street at less than 2 months old)

60 days later I was taking Cornelius home from the shelter
