I will read up on it this week end. The guy at the dog food place (they only sell what I am told are the best foods) suggested it.

JD I answered you over on FB. One of my dogs has skin allergies but I've never heard of using apple cider vineagar. If the skin is already red or itchy it seems it would burn a little to me. I use benadryl twice a day for this guy during the allergy times

I think my brother in law may have tried this (I have heard the name before). I'll ask him. Their dogs (older wire haired doxy mix that had a long history of issues and young Pomeranian ) have responded very well to Salmon oil added to their food.
The [censored] never had skin issues but her coat is absolutely beautiful now.

I have using fish oil capsules (since the vet suggested it a couple of months ago). But I think the Salmon oil must be better. He has been getting the Salmon food for about 2 weeks now. But, the first few days it was mixed with Science diet. I am seeing some improvement. He seems like he feels better.

I doubt I'll get to google to look around tonight but I sure will tomorrow! It was a long grooming session I had on my hands between Paloma and Paris tonight!

Anyway, I wanted to mention that now and then Rosebud loses hair on her back. There were times it was really noticeable and mostly it is just thin spots in mid winter when the furnace is on constant so I think her skin gets dry. Last summer it happened mid summer which was really weird. I was afraid I was going to loose her as coat condition is a sure marker for health in general. I started waiting for the other shoe to drop but when it improved seemingly overnight, I chalked it up to being allegric to some plant in the yard.

Anyway, first sign of her losing hair I start spraying her with leave on spray hair conditioner, like Alberto VO5 or any kind will do.

The next thing I do is bathe her in Euca Luca Lime shampoo. it is excellent stuff and worked like magic on Rose. I mean, the minute she was dry I could feel a huge difference and hew hair appeared within days.

I swear by the euca luca lime.

I think that in addition to feeding a grain free diet to allergy dogs it also helps to use a product like the shampoo. In Rosie's case I worried about how often I could use it and asked grooming professionals who said to go ahead and use it as often as I want. I noticed Rosie absolutely felt better after a bathing so when she would get itchy, I washed her with the euca luca lime. It wasn't long, maybe a couple of weeks and the episode was over with.

So maybe try something like that in addition to the food. it can't hurt and might do wonders. One week I bathed her about ever 3 days but suddenly the coat did an about turn.

Long ago when a dog had skin problems I'd get a coal tar shampoo from my vet. I cannot remember the name of it but it also worked.

I really need to buy that shampoo. I looked at in line before (you told me about it). The shampoo was cheap. But there was some charge for not ordering enough. I think Pet edge mostly supplies businesses.

I wound up buying 2 other shampoos from the vet (allergromm and Keto Chlor)

I wish some store around Ft. Lauderdale would carry it.

I ordered a bottle from a grooming friend the next time she orders. If you want, I can see if she ordered yet and if not I could have her add a bottle and send one to you when they come. The stuff is amazing.
