Paloma bath and lion trim!

I just finished my first cat shave. Well, sorta. Back around 1975 I had to shave my first Persian because she got into picker bushes but I didn't do the bath, blow dry and proper kitty shave with the right clippers. The first time I used horse clippers, lol.

Anyway, I will get a pic of her later. I left everything to the end of her rib cage and shaved her butt and tail to a plume and her back legs.

She looks really nice! Pretty pretty Paloma.

BTW, Suave tropical coconut shampoo is WONDERFUL on kitteh hair. It feels very silky and smells heavenly.

Extreme sanitary shave. Not quite the regular lion trim you normally see as I left hair to her hips. I sleep with Paloma and now and then her cute little butt wouldn't feel so fresh so the butt hair had to go!

I'll more than likely keep her this way, meaning I'll update the shave ever few weeks, and bathe her too each time.

Paloma holds her own with the others very well. She seems to like little bitty Emmit, this morning she was chasing him around the bedroom.

She doesn't hide from Paris or Rosie anymore, but ignores them for the most part. I do think her and Paris will eventually become friends!

Tango and her are now friends but that took a few weeks. I'm glad Tango got over the shock of her in HIS house!

Paloma is a very good kitteh. I loves her to itty bitty pieces!

Thursday she will get a next bath. She is still very clean but she is needing grooming lessons here. I want her used to bathing and grooming because I will not have a dirty or matted Persian on my hands!

Paloma will learn to like getting bathed and groomed if it's the last thing I do, lol.

Do you think I should shave Mr T for the summer? I am thinking even just the anal region and the under belly area. Lwd di dog can shed

He is so the opposite of what I thought I was getting.

Breeder told me he would be a no to low shed dog and weigh no more than 7 pounds.

now I own a shedding ball of terror that weighs 14.5 pounds but I wouldnt trade him for all the $$$$$$$$ in the world

even though he has decided he wants to play at 12:50am EVERY FREAKING NIGHT

Give him a shave and see how he likes it! For the summer I think he would like a shorter do. Find a good groomer though! I would avoid places like chain stores and such, they seem to have a lot of complaints. If you know someone who has a dog they get groomed and they are happy with the place is a good way to go.

I see most dogs seem to love getting the trim once it's over and they like to show off. People talk about how they act when they get home, like Mr. Big Man or something!

Paloma sure did. Well, she didn't enjoy the process but she right away started acting silly and extra happy. I think she feels free from having to spend so much time cleaning herself and for sure she is licking less hair down her throat too.

I haven't seen Tango lately, I didn't realize he was that big!

Start a Tango thread let's find him a nice haircut!

I have a groomer, the same lady that did my previous dog for the entire 12 years of her life.
My former dog used to HATE brushing or bathing when I did it but the groomer always said how good she was when I brought her in may have had somthing to do with the fact that I always walked her there 14 city blocks I may have to do that with Tango, even though I live in a different area now, but still a half hour walk away

If you have some time practice grooming him so he feels used to it when you bring him. If you have an extra table around, put him on it and brush him and tell him how pretty he is and stuff.

Glad you have a groomer! I'm looking forward to the pics! I see some darling cuts on some of the little mix breeds these days.

Very cute!

I had a long haired cat once. Shaving the rear is a great idea.
