so me have a dilemma


Tango has NEVER been alone for more than 2 - maybe 3 hours and even then he was not alone as he was with the big dog Sandy.

Mi bredda and him family going Camping this weekend and not coming back till Wednesday.

Them carrying the big dog Sandy wid dem.

that means Tango will be alone for 9-10 hours on Friday, Monday, tuesday and Wednesday

Dem seh dem will carry him (my brother loves him very much and it is mutual)

Should I send him????

Convince me I would be selfish to keep him here just so I won't be lonely

As long as he is with people he is comfortable with, and the big dog Sandy and they keep him active, he should be fine. Make sure he has his own food and snacks, and a couple toys. Depending on the surroundings, make sure he is tied so he cannot wander off... especially at night.

...and yes, do keep in touch by phone if possible. The little ones can go through separation anxiety, with disastrous results.

PS...when you leave him, whatever you do...do not make a big deal out of it. You will only alert Tango that something is up and he should be worried. So..when you leave him, just walk away like you are going to the other room and done. No more.

Oh tanya it is really hard to leave them. I am leaving little Alex for 2 months while I go to Jamaica. I am flying up to San Francisco next week with him and we will leave from there. He will be with my girl friend that adores him and will dote on him the entire time. I am really feeling separation anxiety and it is nuts. It is not like I do not have children but he is my baby. Nanook has given me so much wonderful advice and it has really helped. Crazy as it sounds I will call him every nite and my girl friend calls him here at night so he gets use to her voice lol.Thinking of it as puppy camp is too cute and I know if he does not settle in and is not happy I can always fly back... What we don`t do for our babies lol.

I would let him go. It will be good for him and broaden his little horizons. The wider the variety of experiences they are exposed to, the more their little minds expand.

If you decide to keep him home, I would say gradually break him in over the weekend if you can. Leave for a few hours and then come back. Next time leave for a little longer and then come back. That's what I did with Butterfly.

I understand how you feel though. I felt guilty for leaving her home alone for so many hours. Then I had to suck it up and say well it is better mama have money to pay for a house to leave you in than we sit in a box on the street together all day lol.

my baby wouldn't be going - i wouldn't rest until she was back home - camping too easy to get lost

the lady at the doggie resort had to tell me to get out of there and don't cry or i would upset sheba she was fine and happy when i got back a week later
