I'm sorry I brought you bad news, but it is what it is...

Best to put "up" anything on the floor you don't want marked. It will happen.

There is another solution though, maybe you can assist in the 'belly band" idea?

do you sew or know anyone that does? I would make you some and send them if I had a minute but I don't...

I have used them and they are wonderful. You can line them with slim panty liners for women and then they last longer.

The premise is this...when the dogs mark, instead of getting it on furniture... they get it on themselves, which is very unpleasant. If this is not a good enough deterrent, the fact that the "marking" goes into the pad instead of on the walls/furniture is a good thing!

Might want to pick up a few.

Consequently, even baby diapers and duct tape will work. Just not as pretty!

I will look into the belly bands. I only have a little over a week to do whatever I'm going to do. I wonder if he will be attracted to the UGODog potty. It is in the guest room after all. Maybe he can go mark that up lol.

Nanook, you have never spoken truer words! I moved in August and had all sorts of drama with my cable, internet, computer, you name it. BUT it was my parents who came to visit and so called help. That lil dog of theirs was marking all over the place. It smells like athlete, no deodorant wearing must and stains the carpet like yellow food coloring if there is such a thing.

I really felt like if he cocked his leg up one more time, I was going to have to whoop his [censored]. Suffice it to say, this was not a family visit without meltdowns.

Anyway, I got Kiwi Carpet Cleaning to come resolve the situation. If I tell you, he only liked to cock up around the dining room table, I'd just have to roll my eyes in remembrance.

On happier note, Butterfly is growing up and becoming so much more obedient, secure, and less of a yappy poodle. It's wonderful. I have never been so proud of her behavior as I was during the move. I thought the small dogs turned adult at around one, but she is truly a little adult dog now.

Awww, I wondered how you were faring. Glad you got it cleaned up!

Butterfly sounds sweet. I sure miss Paris and her antics. She is off with her breeder at the moment and I'm waiting on word as to what will happen next, more showing or a haircut.

Butterfly is 2 now and it's like she suddenly grew up in maturity overnight. It's just wonderful. I have been intentionally taking her a lot of places so that she could become more socialized and somewhere along the way, it seemed to work lol.

She was killing me. As I mentioned before somewhere, Java (our little visitor) does not come you call his name. So I'd call him and Butterfly would look all confused about why he was not coming and then go nudge him and bark at him and get him to come like you don't hear her calling you?

Paris's breeder has been on the road since mid September and is just now on her way home. I'll hear more details then, but if she is to keep showing, I want my friend to keep her so she can stay white. Red clay and rain and mud do not mix well with white poodle hair! I do not miss the hair care to tell you the truth!

Our last conversation, the Topeka shows were going to be the deciding point as to keep going with her or give her the big haircut and then I'd take her to obedience training and get her a degree if she wants to stop pouring the $$ into the show thing. Then I will also get her a Therapy Dog certification so I can visit the old folks homes with her. That is something I really want to do in honor of my mother. You wouldn't believe how much the elderly light up at the sight of the dogs when they visit! They all want to pet and my mother would look so proud when watching her grand dogs get the attention.

It is very fun to watch them communicate! Right from the litter box, they tell each other things like that, it is hysterical! One example is when they turn around 4 weeks old and figure out to leave the bed to go onto the papers to pee and poop. There is always a lagger in that department, it seems. So, the ones that figure out not to pee in the bed will really give hell to the one that will stay in the bed and soil it. They teach each other!

I am hoping to keep Paris with her breeder for at least the Fall season until freeze up, or maybe even as long as she is being shown. There is an investment now that is monetary and not just in the hundreds of hours of hair care, and I really don't want to be responsible for the coat. It is a very long and very thick coat now too as she is also 2 years old and more work than I want. We'll see. She went into season while they were in Topeka and for that reason alone I wouldn't want to take her home now. When she comes home I want her to be able to sleep in the bed and get lots of attention and with the mess she would end up locked up. Some homecoming that would be, NOT! Poor Paris! I will go visit her soon, I haven't seen her since mid July!
