Disposable pets

Jr and a friend were in the house talking yesterday. A family that has about 3 boys that these kids run with is moving to Palm Beach County. I forget the dogs name so I will call him Ace.

Jr. tells the next boy "Ace can't go with them when they move he's too big" So & So said he's going to take him. I don't know what breed Ace is but the kids mentioned he is a puppy but he is large.

I know the economy is in the toilet. I guess it is easy for me to say but if Barney can not go we would not move there

I even see complexes that will take pits now as long as they are friendly. I am a pit lover so I don't have a problem with that. But I know with all the bad publicity and unfair bias and bans they must be the hardest breed to rent with.

I hope that "Ace" (whom I have never laid eyes on) does not wind up being one of the thousands that are killed every day.

Tell me about it. I'm sitting here with a 5 to 6 week old kitten that was tossed out of a car on Friday night in the middle of nowhere! Some people just suck.

When I used to breed, I screened potential buyers heavily. Some of my first questions were "do you have any pets? Have you had dogs before? if so, what happened to them?" Many called, few were chosen to even come see the babies, and even fewer were allowed to let one go with when they left.

But of course...you see people standing in grocery store parking lots offering free kitten/free puppies..and all sorts of other places.

This morning I was digging around google looking to see if I could trace where this kitten came from (not sure I REALLY want to know...), and ran across a slew of stuff about fishermen using kittens for muskie fishing bait!

I guess in that respect, the tossing out of a car in the middle of nowhere isn't the worst thing that could have happened. At least the perpetrator of this crime did it near a house! Kitteh is just lucky it didn't get spotted by a wolf before it made it to the house to cry at the window. She is very tiny.

Yep. Bait. They put them in little harnesses and set them on a floating shingle near where they spot a Muskie.

Like I said a VERY special place in hell for them
I'd like to place them in a harness with bleeding cuts in shark infested waters.

Muskie would be the shark of fresh water. Very big fish. 2 to 4 feet long and 30 to 60 lbs for a good size one!

It is a sought after prize in these waters. The name comes from the Ojibwa word maashkinoozhe, meaning &quot;ugly pike&quot;

Anyway, sometimes Googling you can sure run across some offensive material. Normally I don't read any horror stories concerning animals, my heart can't take it! It does appear as though this was a practice from days gone by but you can imagine it would still take place today somewhere...

I'm sure it is! And I certainly hope if anyone is doing it, they get caught!

I am madly in love with the kitten. This is the kind of personality I was hoping for when I adopted Paloma. She loves to hang out on my lap, sleep by my neck or on top of my head on the pillow and her purring is so loud! AND she uses the litter box!!! I can hardly wait till she gets to the vet so I can make her healthy. She has bad fur and worms I'm sure. But people that leave kittens on the side of the road in the middle of nowhere don't worry about shots and worming &amp; proper nutrition!

She is so sweet! My Tango was an abandoned kitten as well, only he was a little older. At this point I guess I don't even wanna know who decided she was &quot;disposable&quot;. She is precious, as is each fur baby life. My maternal instincts have kicked in full force and it is probably not good for me to know the origin of where she came from!
