Fort Lauderdale, FL –The Humane Society MASH unit and two cargo vans with six Humane Society of Broward County (HSBC) representatives will leave on Friday, August 13th at approximately 6:00 a.m. and head to Bullocks K-9 Center in Pascagoula, Mississippi . The owner of the kennels John McArthur Bullock was found dead August 10 at 3:00 a.m. slumped over in his van. His death is being investigated. The HSUS contacted the HSBC as their first responder to help these animals in need. The Humane Society will be transporting 97 miniature pinschers and 3 pit bulls back to their shelter at 2070 Griffin Road, Fort Lauderdale, FL.
The staff will arrive Friday evening and be at the Bullocks kennels first thing Saturday morning. HSUS has secured local veterinarians to do physical examinations on all of the animals before being removed from the facility. The HSBC anticipates arriving back in Fort Lauderdale, FL late in the evening of Saturday, August 14th. Once rested, the dogs will be evaluated by our clinic staff on Sunday morning and should be available for adoption sometime late Sunday afternoon or early Monday morning.
