CLINTON — A store clerk's dog helped stop an armed robbery at a liquor store in Clinton Friday night, police said.
A female clerk was working at Glenwood Package Store, at 140 Killingworth Tpke., when a man entered the store just before 8 p.m., Officer Allyson Skeens said. The store clerk was looking down when she heard a click, Skeens said. When she looked up, a man wearing a ski mask and dark clothing had a handgun pointed at her and demanded money, Skeens said.
The store clerk's dog, Ginger, which is a Labrador-boxer-Rottweiler mix, ran toward the suspect, chasing him out of the store, Skeens said. He fled in a vehicle, police said.
