Re: There is not a more loyal being. than this...
Dogs are very loyal. Our Pomeranian laid by my husband's side on the floor when hubby collapsed and died. I guess that it was around 9 hours from the time I talked to my husband before I returned to find him and the dog came running out of the bedroom to greet me. So I assume he laid there with him.

Awww JMiss....Bless his broken little heart. I can just picture that. I once sold a Pin to the mayor of a northern Minnesota town who was home fighting cancer and the little dog was his companion for the better part of the year and some and there was the wife and rest of the family that wanted to have the dog too, so I never had to worry about later..the dog was such a good companion to him, and after he passed that little guy didn't leave the man's bed for a long time either. I felt so bad for them all. It is ChaCha's littermate.

Re:Prince the dog finds his owner after 5 years of
searching
If you move four times in five years, it's hard enough for the mail to find you, let alone a dog. But that's just what one smart Shih Tzu did this past week.
According to NBC News, Myrna Carillo lost her beloved dog Prince over five years ago in California. Since then, she has married, had two boys... and moved four times. And yet, somehow Prince showed up on her doorstep last week. Myrna immediately recognized the furry dog, and more impressively, the dog recognized her. Prince is already bonding with Myrna's sons, and is reacquainting himself with his rediscovered family.
This isn't the first pet miracle. Last year, a cat returned home after going missing during Hurricane Katrina five years ago. And an Australian dog returned home after a nine year disappearance. As for Prince -- while his house may have changed four times in his absence, there seems to be no place like home.

Lawd JMiss and Nanook.
My dad was in the hospital a few years ago. My parents' dog at that time was Rembrandt. He laid up in the den by the back door waiting for my dad to come home. He just didn't understand what was going on. Then one night my mom came home from the hospital from visiting dad and Rembrandt had knocked over the dirty clothes hamper and pulled a pair of my dads shorts and a shirt out and was laying on them by the back door.
